Good morning, today is April Fool's Day! Unfortunately, we will not be together to celebrate this as the Coronavirus rage continues to impact the world. If you have been watching/ reading the news, our State Superintendent said that there is a really good chance that school is done for the remainder of the year! I am not sure what happens to prom, grad night and graduation, but if history is any indicator (ex. WWII high school students) It sure feels like your class will go in the books as a NO SHOW. I hope I am wrong.
Today, we will continue with our video about Prop 13's impact.

Roommates cont...
Today we discussed:
Today we will address various topics as time allows. For example when we are done with the reading you will begin thinking about an individual you want to interview. This interview will be kept in folder and you must have the interviewee sign it. You can do the interview via phone or text but you need to show notes of conversation/texts/emails. Problems with someone In addition, you will also learn how to address a problem you may have with someone in a professional manner. You will pick 5 things that people (friends, parents, siblings, boy/girlfriend) do and use the formula described in the reading to shed light to the issue. An example is here: "I was really looking forward to having some of my specialty chocolate when I got home, and I was really disappointed when there was none left. I would appreciate it if it could be replaced." Provide “I Statements” as a tool for dialogue. An “I Statement” refers to a sentence that explains how the person is feeling and what they would like without attacking the person they are speaking to or putting them on the defensive. The statement is as follows: I feel______ when_____because_____so what I’m hoping is _____. A complete example would be “I feel frustrated when the lights are left on after midnight because it is hard for me to fall asleep and then I don’t do well in my classes, so I’m hoping we can turn the lights off or dim them at a certain time every night, or find another agreeable solution that works for both of us.” Establishing Service Contact you local utility company and ask a representative how to establish service for the first time. What are the requirements? I suggest you let the representative know that you are in HS and that this is an assignment for a project. They are usually very helpful. If not, go online and read what those requirements are. Click on images and they will take you there. CA POE 12.2 |
